These are one of the photos that will embarass my daughter, but I had to catch. She had rolled off the bed and fell asleep on her bean bag. I had to run and grab the camera. I think I woke her up, but caught most of it. I love having kids!! 

This is the same pattern but with Magic stripes. It is lighter weight, but still warm. It made up smaller in width as well. But still very pratical. I carried it around Charleston this past weekend - lots of comments . 

This is my wiggles shawl. I used the Vanna White ripple shawl pattern. It is sport-weight acrilic. I wanted something easy to care for I could throw in a bag and take with me for extra warmth. I love it. It is a nice weight. 

This is my poncho. I love it!! It is snuggly and warm and soft. I made it with TLC Amore yarn. And it was a pattern on http://www.craftyarncouncil.com/projects/proj_cr_1099.html. It works up fast with 2 strands of worsted weight yarn, P hook. I think I will just have to make another one! 

Hat for my mommy. I asked Mom if she wanted me to make her a hat. Hobby Lobby had yummy Amore yarn on sale for 2.44 - a steal. She picked out this yarn and voila. It made up quick and is lovely. It's a pattern called Madison cap from a Leisure Arts book I bought. I lost the front cover of the book so I don't recall the title :( But I love the hats in the book, easy and quick! 

Just whipped up a quick hat to go with Jason's sweater. This is what he will wear tomorrow to church!! :) My little 4 year old man. 

Lastly - here are some simple hats I made. The blue & pink hats are with a simple pattern I found in the Interweave Crochet (a special edition of Interweave Knits). I like the pattern, or formula really because you can use it with any yarn and to any size. You can make it w/ a brim or without. It's easy and quick!

His sweater w/o trim. 

This is the sweater I made for my son. It was made with Cotton Ease and it is my design. It is a dc and sc pattern (alternating) with a dark blue stripe every 5 rows. The sleeves have slight shaping, but in the future, I would probably shape it mor. It was fun to experiment with. I tried putting train on the front, but it looked better without it. 

Big Hands

My son asked me today if I had little hands or big hands. I asked him what he meant. He replied by counting my fingers. 1-2-3-4-5. 1-2-3-4-5. "You have big hands" he said.

I asked him what he had. He held up his hands and asked me to count. 1-2-3-4-5. 1-2-3-4. He said "I have little hands".

I asked him if he wanted little hands or big hands. He said "little hands".

The ones God gave him. Little hands.

This is the shawl in organic Oatmeal chenille that I made for my sister's birthday. It looks lovely on her. It was made with the Lionbrand pattern for a shawl in suade (link posted earlier in my blog). I thought it turned out well.

Crochetteville

I have joined Crochetville (http://pub119.ezboard.com/bcrochetville). A community of people like me - in love with crochet! :) I am also thinking about joining the Crochet Guild of America - but don't want to spend $35 right now to join. Anyway - I also signed up for my first yarn swap! I can't wait to participate, this will be fun!

Here are 2 quick scarves I made. One is a scarf I made inspired off of the Window Pane scarf I found on crochetme.com. I made it with Magic stripes. The darker scarf is just a simple double crochet scarf made with Trekkin stripes yarn. I really, really like making items with the sock yarn - it is very lightweight and easy to work with. It is also pretty with the different color patterns. 

This is a shawl I made from Trekkin sock yarn. It is short because I ran out of yarn and only had the yarn in similar colors but stripes instead of varigated - but it works. I love the lightness of it - but because it is wool it is still warm. 

Here is the "collection". 

These are blurrier than I wanted them to be, but here is another. You probably can't see it - but I am using ribbon and little bows as accents on the sweater.. It is just double crochet stiches and chains. Very easy, and quick. 

This is a sweet little baby sweater that this lovely elderly lady taught me when I was in college. In thinking about crochet recently - I want to remember how to make it and write down her pattern so others can use it.
